“NEW STUDIO” GROUP ACTS 12-18 MONTH GRACE PERIOD *NEW

Any new studio must comply with a 12-18 month grace period in order to enter studio groups at a GTB competition. This means a studio opening cannot enter group acts until 12-18 months (GTB Director discretion) after being in business. This rule is out of respect to loyal studios whom have been in business and attending GTB for many years. We are highly aware of poaching tactics and negative studio culture disrupting events and damaging supporting businesses, and ultimately damaging the GTB culture. We have personally witnessed this at 2 GTB events in our history. This also acts as a safety barrier for any new studios for any pre-conceived before-mentioned acts of negativity. After 12 months – contact with GTB directors must be made prior to entering a competition. This does not apply to solo or duo acts from the Studio.

SMALL GROUP SECTIONS
GTB is offering 3 small group sections per age group in 2020 – Lyrical, Jazz, Contemporary. These sections are purely for groups that have 11 or less dancers in the group. 12 or more will go in the regular section. For all other styles (eg Tap) these sections are for any number of dancers in the groups. These small groups are offered for all age groups.

GENERAL
Competitors Enter at OWN RISK, GTB Pty Ltd and its Directors/Staff accept no responsibility for any accidents or injury to any dancer, audience member or anyone else at any time.

AGE CUT OFF
For Groups age is as at JANUARY 1, 2020 (oldest member in Group dictates the age). example if you have kids aged (on Jan 1, 2019) 8,9,9,8,7,8,9,9,8,8,12,8,8,9 in a group – because one is 12 and they are the oldest you will need to put this act in 12&U. If you have kids aged 8,8,8,8,9,8,8,8 – this will need to go in 10&U as one kid is too old for 8&U.

BROADWAY JAZZ – Can go in MUSICAL THEATRE or ANY STYLE section
CABARET – Can go in MUSICAL THEATRE or ANY STYLE section
NEO CLASSICAL – Can go in CLASSICAL or ANY STYLE section
Anything else can go in ANY STYLE section

AMOUNT OF ACTS
You CAN have more than one act in each section

2020 REGIONAL VIEWING FEES
All solo/duo/trio sessions there will be NO CHARGE for spectator viewing
All group or special event sessions there will be a small door charge for viewing

DIGITAL PROGRAMS ONLY FOR 2020 REGIONALS
In 2020 we will be printing less paper and doing our bit for the environment. All Regional programs will be digital! We will still email out a draft copy (for checking and alterations), a final version, and also posting a final version on the website and on our monitored app “GTB Dance”. The Finals Program will still be printed in A4 size.

FIRST AID
BE SAFE and come prepared! Not all venues have the facilities for ice-packs etc
Each Studio (entered in groups) MUST provide their own first aid person, ice, and first aid kit. GTB Staff are not responsible for providing any first aid equipment or ice/heat products.

REFUNDS
We DO NOT provide refunds for change of mind, or clash with another competition or commitment. If you have made a mistake (e.g. double entries) or the dancer is injured (with proof) we may be able to transfer to another regional – if a refund is accepted we will provide this at the event ONLY.

FINALS QUALIFYING
To qualify you must place 1st-5th and receive a Golden Ticket. All acts that qualify are eligible for an extra act each at finals, eg if you qualify with 3 acts, you can perform in 6 at finals for groups.

GROUP ALL-ACCESS PASS (Compulsory for Group dancers)
This covers the following:
DIGITAL PROGRAM (available as a final copy on the app or via studio owner)
REGISTRATION FEE
INSURANCE FEE
AUDIENCE VIEWING (For Dancers only, and only in off-peak times. Family/Friends will incur a small door charge)
AUDIO CRITIQUE (ONLY available for Studio Owners or admin)
>> THIS DISCOUNTED PASS IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR GROUP DANCERS THAT ARE NOT COMPETING IN SOLOS/DUOS/TRIOS
>> IF YOU ARE COMPETING IN SOLOS/DUOS/TRIOS AT THIS EVENT AND ALREADY HAVE YOUR PASS, YOU DO NOT NEED A SPECIAL GROUP ONE ALSO.

ONLY ONE PASS IS NEEDED PER COMPETITOR PER REGIONAL
STUDIOS WILL BE INVOICED FOR ALL COMPETITOR ALL-ACCESS PASSES UPON CONFIRMATION OF NUMBERS – CLOSER TO THE DATE OF EVENT

Where it asks for COMPETITOR NAME – this is your STUDIO NAME
